After such a successful National Signing Day experience for Florida’s coaching staff, it’s time to give them even more praise as I present my 2010 recruiting superlatives. The 2011 recruiting season has just begun, so this will gracefully take everyone out of the 2010 mode.

Here are the uncommitted players of interest and the times they’ll be signing on National Signing Day on Wednesday.
Christian Jones, LB, Winter Park Lake Howell — He is holding a news conference and signing his Letter of Intent at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN. It will be done at Disney’s ESPN Zone. So, I guess he’s not going to school? Jones is also considering Florida State, Alabama and Notre Dame.

Well, it’s finally here. The second most important day of the year for fans besides bowl game day … which is actually debatable if your team isn’t playing for the national championship. Michael McFarland has made yet another change in his collegiate plans.
Days after announcing that he would be grayshirting this fall and not reporting to Florida until January of 2011, the Tampa Blake tight end commit is now expected to arrive in Gainesville in June, he said Wednesday night.
McFarland said Florida coaches informed his high school coach, Harry Hubbard, Wednesday that they were no longer interested in grayshirting him. Originally, McFarland accepted the grayshirt during his official visit this past weekend …

Earlier this afternoon, Rivals.com reported that Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson safety Demar Dorsey was officially taken off Florida’s commitment list. Just to confirm, a source informed me that Florida’s coaches are no longer pursuing Dorsey and that he is no longer committed to Florida. Dorsey did not return calls or text messages on Wednesday.

It’s finally coming to an end. On Friday, West Chester, Ohio, Lakota West linebacker Jordan Hicks will end his recruitment. The consensus No. 1 linebacker in the country is down to Florida, Texas and Ohio State, but most are saying this is a two-horse race between Florida and Texas. Sunday was supposed to be for football watching. The NFC and AFC championships were supposed to be the only things football-related that I would care about. Sure, there were three official visitors in Gainesville over the weekend, but there wasn’t supposed to be much noise coming from any of them.
