Edward Aschoff grew up in beautiful Oxford, Miss., but spurned Ole Miss in 2004 to spend his college years at the University of Florida studying journalism. During his 4 1/2 years buried away in Weimer Hall, he wrote for a few publications and Web sites. The Sun gave him a chance in July of 2007 and he’s been pumping out stories mostly about UF sports ever since. You can catch Edward either at some sort of Gator sporting event, in the gym or any court/field involving a ball and competition. He grew up playing and watching soccer, but now prefers college football and challenges anyone to a game of NCAA football on Playstation 3. He was named Media Wii Tennis Champion after dominating everyone — most notably Sports Illustrated’s Stewart Mandel — during his coverage of the 2008 national championship in Miami.
