Running list of visitors for Florida’s banquet weekend

by

Florida will have nine official visitors this weekend for the football banquet, and all are Gator commitments.

Here are the recruits scheduled to be on hand for the event:

RB Kelvin Taylor, 5-11, 214, Belle Glade, Fla./Glades Day
WR Ahmad Fulwood, 6-4, 189, Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny
DT Caleb Brantley, 6-3, 295, Crescent City, Fla./Crescent City
DL Joey Ivie, 6-4, 270, Dade City, Fla./Pasco
DE Jordan Sherit, 6-5, 234, Tampa, Fla./Hillsborough
LB Daniel McMillian, 6-3, 220, Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast
LB Quinton Powell, 6-2, 200, Daytona Beach, Fla./Mainland
CB Vernon Hargreaves III, 5-11, 185, Tampa, Fla./Wharton
S Nick Washington, 6-0, 183, Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian

Florida’s two remaining commits in the FHSAA playoffs — Gainesville receiver Chris Thompson and Tallahassee Lincoln linebacker James Hearns — are unable to attend the banquet and will officially visit at a later date, as will running back Adam Lane (Winter Haven, Fla./Winter Haven), receiver Alvin Bailey commit (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) and safety commit Keanu Neal (Bushnell, Fla./South Sumter).

Receiver Marqui Hawkins (Columbus, Ga./Carver) and defensive lineman commit Antonio Riles (Lawrenceville, Ga./Archer) cannot make it as planned because they to take the ACT on Saturday. Five-star defensive tackle Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly County) had considered coming for his UF official this weekend, but he also has his ACT and will not be visiting any colleges. With Adams off the agenda, it looks like the Gators won’t have any 2013 uncommitted official visitors for the banquet.

However, they are hosting 2014 quarterback Will Grier (Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day) and 2014 cornerback Duke Dawson (Cross City, Fla./Dixie County). Florida leads for both prospects, who have said they want to make their decisions as soon as possible. There’s a good chance that this weekend could speed up the process for them, even if they don’t commit while in Gainesville.

Really was hoping M. Adams would/could make the event! Dominate that ACT and get back to Gainesville ASAP…we want to show you some love!

Agree w/Ti-CatZZ: That list PLUS M.Adams looks like a winner before even finishing-up with a few “surprises”, then giving ‘em a spring and summer in our S&C Coach’s program, time working out under our Head Coach and position-Coaches, and finding their “fit” with the rest of their SEC-experienced, battle-tested teammates…
Y’all think we may be pretty good next year?

@TN Gator–NOT a bad idea grabbing another QB here, what with Jacoby at least considering bailing, NOT that we’ll “replace” him, really, if he does go (he is more a “1-a” than a “2nd-string” after all, one who knows the offense and his hardly a step down, as Pease knows what he is getting when he sends him in and how to adapt his offense’s scheme accordingly)…Perhaps if one is “out there” we’d do well to go after a JUCO QB who is already college-built and experienced and can start for us NOW–A long shot to find one, but failing that, we’re more or less STARTING ALL OVER as far as grooming a Back-up, which is DIFFERENT than “QB-to-BE”, obviously–Jacoby is a real luxory, and finding a “replacement” would be like asking “lightening to strike twice”…

I agree with my compandres above. I really really want M. Adams. I think he can be a ket contributor along with C. Brantley. There’s plenty of PT for both them as True Freshmen!!
@Travis – Zach has answered this about 5 million times so I’ll help him out.
EE’s are RB Kelvin Taylor, OL Tyler Moore, DT Darious Cummings, DL Joey Ivie, LB Daniel McMillian and S Marcell Harris. The UF targets enrolling early are OL Trenton Brown, DE Ebenezer Ogundeko and LB Matt Rolin. A great group of early contributors if you ask me.

M Adams would be a great get, but is he as realistic a possibiltiy as the jc player, Reed? And as for Wiggins, are we that desperate for another cb in this class? I’ve read where some of the recruiting gurus say he tends to follow a great play with a not so great play. Besides that Washington has the ability to slide over to cb if they need him, or so its been printed.

Asantii Woulard would be a very nice addition the the recruiting class and the QB depth

Asiantii Woulard (USF QB) isn’t coming here. He had his chance but never worked out and earned an offer. Staff won’t take him.
Also, with 5 DBs committed and Mackensie Alexander considering UF, I don’t think Shaq Wiggins flips because I don’t think the staff takes him at this point.

Zach, if I could crush up your recruiting information and snort it up my nose I would. Until medical science actually does its’ job and figures out how to do that I’ll just take it intra-ocular.

What? No Tunsil? We need to bring in a Tunsil. This class will only be successful if we can get Tunsil. Now get out there and get all Tunsilly.

    gatorfan,

Collins visits on Dec. 14, Rolin already took his official to UF and I got no response from Wiggins. If he does come, it will be unofficially and I’d be very surprised if he flipped this soon. He has an official visit scheduled for Jan. 18.

Zach, I just saw on another site that L. Tredwell now has set an OV for the Gators. can you offer us any details, and how do you like our chances if they actually get him on campus?
