I BELIEVE OUR O-LINE WILL FINALLY BE THE UNIT WE WERE LOOKING FOR THIS YEAR WITH WHAT WE HAD COMING BACKLAST YEAR, DON’T GET ME WRONG THEY DID IMPROVE AND DID A RESPECTABLE JOB. I BELIEVE WITH THE GANG THAT WE HAVE COMING BACK AND THE EXPERIENCE THEY HAVE AND THE JUCO ADDITIONS (IF THEY CATCH ON TO THE ASSIGNMENTS QUICKLY) WE WILL HAVE A PRETTY GOOD AND DEEP UNIT. THIS COULD BE ANOTHER SPECIAL YEAR (SEC CHAMPS), WE HAVE THE PIECES TO FILL IN AND EVEN IMPROVE A HELLAVA DEFENSIVE TEAM. SPRINKLE IN SOME OF THE FRESHMEN MAKING CONTRIBUTIONS, LOOK OUT!! GO GATORS!!!!

No doubt, it starts with the big uglies (as Keith Jackson used to say, and Herbstreit now) up front. It seemed we had the run blocking down in 2012 but the pass protection was shaky at best. I don’t know that the new signees will help much on O-line, exception being the JUCO guys. This is where the transfers should give us a shot in the arm. They’re physically ready and hopefully they’ll be able to pick everything up in the spring/summer.

Actually, Pease does not make the O-line calls, Davis does, but what is really the issue is mastery. It usually takes 1-2 years in a system to learn it like a habit, and thus have the ability to play “fast” without thinking. Give it another year or 2, and as long as we don’t have a lot of turnover in the Offensive coaches, we should see some real results… Go Gators!

Actually, this a non-issue b/c we have both kids on the team, win-win, and I said they are good kids. However, Patton was a 4-star rated WR, 36th best in the country, from Ala, but having played football at every level, I don’t follow the “stars” ratings much, we look at what a kid can do, and film, and if you look at the film, the difference is dramatic. Bailey was the best player on the field for a FL state championship, and nationally ranked team, and is exceptional, but don’t take my word for it, look at the film yourself…Either way, they are both Gators… Go Gators!

Word is the OL could not block the scheme Pease was trying to put in place, therefore we only got a glimpse of what’s to come…let’s hope so. JUCO QB to visit this weekend. …Tyler Murphy confuses me…

Pease is hopefully going to open it more this year and get this crop of wr’s displaying what they can do.. Muschamp has the d on lock, just have to trust Pease’s play calling coach…

Hi Zach,

Would it be possible for you to start publishing the development of any players whose progress is noteworthy? Height, weight, 40 time and lifting totals would be of interest to me. Especially, the progress of the freshman and sophomore class. Perhaps one or two from the end of recruiting to the beginning of fall practice.

@Swampman- lets not get ahead of ourselves. Patton was a 4 star coming out of HS and was a consensus top 10 WR on all the recruiting websites…….and I believe if Urban was still here running the spread the guy would have had a much bigger impact. He is for all intents and purposes victim of the system.
