Spring football is underway for the Florida Gators, and that means recruiting about to take off.

Today is the second of two open practices and the first one in full pads.

The media and public won’t be the only spectators on hand this afternoon. UF is scheduled to have a few prospects on the practice field, including two Rivals100 members.

Some of the expected visitors are running back Nick Chubb (Cedertown, Ga.), linebacker Dillon Bates (Ponte Vedra) and defensive tackle Lamont Gaillard (Fayetteville, N.C./Pine Forest), who was offered by Florida on Monday. Bates and Gaillard are both very high on UF, but the Gators must impress Chubb if they’re going to have a chance with him.

Coveted 2015 defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson (Glen Saint Mary Baker County) is also attending practice, which is Florida’s third of the spring.

UF has already had a handful of 2013 signees visit for the first two practices: JUCO offensive tackle Trenton Brown, defensive linemen Caleb Brantley and Jordan Sherit, linebacker Jarrad Davis and cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III.
