New & Notes

* The following prospects received offers from Florida this week: offensive lineman Dontae Angus (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown), defensive end Cory Thomas (McCalla, Ala./McAdory), linebacker Kevin Mouhon (Norcross, Ga./Norcross), 2015 running back Jerome Baker (Cleveland, Ohio/Benedictine), 2015 tight end Jordan Davis (Houston, Texas/Clear Lake) and 2015 defensive end D’Andre Walker (Fairburn, Ga./Langston Hughes).

* Running back Sony Michel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./American Heritage) committed to Georgia over Miami on Friday. The five-star prospect had UF in his Top 5 and attended the Orange & Blue Debut, but the Gators were never a serious contender for him.

* Two of Florida’s top 2015 targets — Tarpon Spring East Lake wide receiver George Campbell and Glen Saint Mary Baker County defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson — were invited to the Army All-American Bowl.

* Tallahassee Godby linebacker Jacob Pugh spent the weekend in Gainesville, marking his trip to see the Gators this month. Bradenton IMG Academy offensive tackle Denzel Ward plans to visit UF this coming Wednesday.

Seems like we are making more of a nation-wide push, this year; especially, out west. Is that true, Zach? Do you see UF having more success with out-of-state kids, in the upcoming years?

It seems as if in 2015 tight ends seem to be a huge priority. Out of these 2015 tight ends which ones do you see as the most likely to wear orange and blue Zach ? As always great work Zach !!!!

The staff did some west coast evaluations last year as well. However, it’s now easier for the Gators to land some of those recruits after the season they just had.
