Grier makes initial list of top QBs at Elite 11


Florida commit Will Grier is off to a solid start at the Elite 11 quarterback competition in Beaverton, Ore.

On Monday, the event’s coaches, headed by former NFL QB and ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer, released their initial rankings of the top 11 quarterbacks and Grier came in at No. 5 on the list.

The 18-player competition continues Tuesday with 7-on-7 pool play at The Opening. The final Elite 11, including the MVP, will be announced Wednesday following the 7-on-7 championship game.

Here are the current QB rankings:

3) Sean White, Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University School (uncommitted)

5) Will Grier, Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day (Florida commit)
6) K.J. Carta-Samuels, San Jose, Calif./Bellarmine Prep (Vanderbilt commit)
7) Keller Chryst, Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto (Stanford commit)
8) Jacob Park, Goose Creek, S.C./Stratford (Georgia commit)
9) Jerrod Heard, Denton, Texas/Guyer (Texas commit)
10) Manny Wilkins, Novato, Calif./Novato (Arizona State commit)

    Where’s the Bamer commit? He was suppose to dominate the event, according to some of the “experts”.

    Hey Zach…. does UF have a beat on Sean White? Heard that kid has been throwing lights out. He’s a in-state kid. Looks like we only take one QB in the cycle, but just in case.
