Campbell opens up recruitment, taking it slow

Five-star recruit George Campbell is back on the market in the 2015 recruiting cycle.

The Tarpon Springs East Lake receiver made an early pledge to Michigan in the summer but decommitted last month.

“I talked to my family about it,” he said, “and we just felt like opening my recruitment back up was the best thing for me. It wasn’t about coach Brady Hoke or the season they had. I have no harsh feelings toward Michigan.”

The 6-foot-3, 183-pound Campbell has put recruiting on the back burner now that he’s undecided. His focus is on football and winning a state championship as a senior.

“It’s not a big process right now,” he said. “I’m trying to keep it at a slow pace, take my time and evaluate all my opinions. Everyone is getting looked at by me.

“But recruiting is not even on my mind right now. I’m trying to get a ring for my team.”

Florida was one of Campbell’s top schools before his commitment to Michigan, and he still thinks highly of the Gators.

“It’s a great school and a nice program, and they develop their players,” he said. “The season they had didn’t bother me at all. I’m not there, and I feel like I could help change the program.”

Campbell, who is ranked in the Top 10 nationally by ESPN and Rivals, likes new UF offensive coordinator Kurt Roper.

“I watched him the other night in Duke’s bowl game,” he said. “He’s a good coach, and I really hope he gets their offense going.”

With the “NEW” scheme and the great assembly of coaches now on board, a pretty good season next year and we are in the hunt for all the top flight recruits next year. Most of those kids just want to see if Florida will resemble the real GATORS that they have been so use to following over the years. Many of the WANT to be GATORS, nut winning GATORS! With the new staff, we are back!! GO GATORS!!!!

Adoree jackson, jeff Jones, mckenzie, damiam prince, lorenzo Carter, and of course lane snd jc jackson. Those are who I think are the most key players gators need to get. Adoreecsn be a lock down corner and use on offense, jones is that back thst can get positive yards as well as catch the bsll out the back field, prince will be elite lineman we need to make the offense run game better for years, carter is another guy that can replace roland powell on defense playing aside gerald willis, and last but not least. Mckenzie will be that devin Hester type return guy. We already know about jc and lane
