Two UF targets set August decision dates

A pair out-of-state targets for Florida announced Sunday on Twitter that they plan to make their decisions in August.

Linebacker Adonis Thomas (Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett) will make his commitment Aug. 1, and cornerback Jalen Thompson (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul’s Episcopal) decides Aug. 22.

The 6-foot-4, 217-pound Thomas is a consensus top-300 prospect, and ESPN ranks him 55th nationally. UF has been his leader since his visit in late March, and he attended the Orange & Blue Debt last month. Alabama and Georgia appear to be the Gators’ biggest threats.

Thompson is unrated by ESPN and Rivals but has a four-star on 247Sports and holds more than 20 offers. On Thursday, the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder named a Top 5 (in order) of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Miami and Clemson. He has never visited UF but plans to soon.

The linebacker is very important. Cornerback doesn’t seem to be a problem with the players already on campus, coming in the fall, and already committed. UF will probably have three drafted this year, how many schools can sell that fact to a potential recruit?

What is the latest on the possible transfer by the TE from UVA to UF?

Yeah I haven’t hear anything about uva TE McGhee since the first sory that he’d likely transfer to florida. Is that still the case? He could be the missing puzzle piece this offense needs.

No one said McGhee would likely transfer to UF. It’s highly doubtful he would do so if you read his reasons for leaving UVA. One, he said he was tire of losing, why go to a 4-8 school if you want to win? Second, he didn’t like the way UVA used him as a “hybrid” tight end. He wants to be a traditional tight end in a pro-set offense. Roper’s arrival means that UF is no longer a pro-set team, and the tight end will be more of a hybrid position. That’s why Matt Jones is already mentioned as a possible fit. There’s no reason to get excited over someone who is probably never going to come to UF.

Your comments have nothing to do with the story and you’re attacking another poster. If you can’t stay on topic and stop calling people stupid, idiot, etc., I’ll just keep deleting your posts. That goes for anyone. I’ve made this clear countless times.
