Florida’s 2018 class added its first member Friday with the commitment from a three-star in-state prospect.
Jalynn Williams, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound athlete from St. Petersburg, announced on his Twitter account that he was giving the Gators his verbal commitment.

Soon after, UF coach Jim McElwain confirmed Williams’ commitment on his own account.

The No. 44 overall athlete in the 2018 class, Williams picked up an offer in June from the Gators. Although his enrollment is nearly 18 months away, Williams will be in the mix to earn playing time at wide receiver upon arriving in Gainesville.
Williams’ verbal commitment, which is non-binding until he signs a national letter of intent, is Florida’s first commitment in the 2018 class.
