Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. There were some technical difficulties with the questions this week, but I’ve got some good ones and I hope the answers are equally as good. With no further delay … on to the questions!

The importance of getting Shaw’s verbal

by Edward Aschoff

Florida needs Joshua Shaw’s commitment Tuesday. The Palmdale, Calif., cornerback is a must for the the Gators. In less than 24 hours, one of the top defensive prospects in the country will hold a live press conference to announce his college decision. He’s doing it in style and doing it earlier than people thought. He’s also doing it a little more than a week after taking an unofficial visit to Gainesville and staying late with his parents to talk with … Read More »

Key visitors for UF-USC in Columbia

by Edward Aschoff

Figured I’d give you a glimpse of some kids Florida is interested in who will be in Columbia for the game Saturday. Of course the big name that will be officially visiting is Manning, S.C. cornerback John Fulton, who is fresh off an official to Florida for the Vanderbilt game. He spent a lot of time with linebacker Brandon Spikes before and after the game. He was also talking with Urban Meyer for a good bit of time before the game. … Read More »

Shaw close to choosing Gators?

by Edward Aschoff

If you guys haven’t read the recruiting message board, I posted Sunday night that Palmdale, Calif., cornerback Joshua Shaw and his parents were outside The Swamp talking with coach Urban Meyer, defensive backs coach Vance Bedford, safeties coach Chuck Heater and tight ends coach Dan White. There could have been a couple of other coaches out there, but I was trying to get those oh-so-important Sunday night interviews. The Gators got some good news last week when Shaw decided to … Read More »

Ask Aschoff 11/4

by Edward Aschoff

High school seasons all across the country are winding down, which means recruiting will begin to pick up again. Early enrollees will have to start making up their minds and official visits will be heating up. Rivalry games. Early Christmas gifts for teams. This time of year sure does get exciting. On to the questions! Due to their offensive experience in high school, could Travon Van, Demar Dorsey, Jaylen Watkins, and/or Jordan Haden possibly play WR? On another note, what are … Read More »

Gators got first-hand look at Orson Charles

by Edward Aschoff

Oh, what could have been. As I watched from the Jacksonville Municipal press box Saturday, I couldn’t help but be impressed with one guy in red and black. Most Gator fans have to have been thinking the same thing when they saw Georgia tight end Orson Charles line up opposite the Gators’ defense: Why isn’t this guy wearing different colors? I mean, he did knock over Florida’s 2006 national championship trophy last year. He did say Florida was one of his … Read More »

Ask Aschoff 10/28

by Edward Aschoff

Wow, I guess my Wii Tennis skills got more people interested in the mailbag this week! So many questions, so little space. Keep them coming guys. I’d also like to take the time to give props to “Jack,” who got the sarcasm I used in my “Why not recruit the Magnolia State?” blog. But I gotta say, my bragging about my Wii skills isn’t “dorky.” It’s just a fun way to pass the time when you’re dining on lovely cuisine … Read More »
