Florida needs Joshua Shaw’s commitment Tuesday. The Palmdale, Calif., cornerback is a must for the the Gators. In less than 24 hours, one of the top defensive prospects in the country will hold a live press conference to announce his college decision. Figured I’d give you a glimpse of some kids Florida is interested in who will be in Columbia for the game Saturday.
Of course the big name that will be officially visiting is Manning, S.C. cornerback John Fulton, who is fresh off an official to Florida for the Vanderbilt game. He spent a lot of time with linebacker Brandon Spikes before and after the game. He was also talking with Urban Meyer for a good bit of time before the game. …

This is the point in the season when recruiting will really be buzzing. Early enrollees will be making decisions or taking very, very important official visits. Rivalry games are coming up, which means the big-time visits will be amazing for prospects. Get ready for an exciting time in recruiting.

If you guys haven’t read the recruiting message board, I posted Sunday night that Palmdale, Calif., cornerback Joshua Shaw and his parents were outside The Swamp talking with coach Urban Meyer, defensive backs coach Vance Bedford, safeties coach Chuck Heater and tight ends coach Dan White. High school seasons all across the country are winding down, which means recruiting will begin to pick up again. Early enrollees will have to start making up their minds and official visits will be heating up. Rivalry games. Early Christmas gifts for teams. This time of year sure does get exciting. As I watched from the Jacksonville Municipal press box Saturday, I couldn’t help but be impressed with one guy in red and black.
