As Urban Meyer and his staff look to make more moves over on the West coast, their eyes will definitely be on Sammamish, Wa., Skyline wide receiver Kasen Williams. The thing about Williams is that he’s not your typical wideout. He looks like he could line up a few other positions. At 6-foot-2, 197 pounds, Williams has a frame that could continue to expand before he steps on a college campus.

In his five-plus seasons at Florida, Urban Meyer has made it obvious that his goal has been to make Florida the fastest and most athletic team in the country. Florida has always been a team to linger around and pluck some top talent from the state of Georgia. In the previous recruiting season, Urban Meyer and his coaches went in and got prizedLithonia, Ga., Martin Luther King running back Mack Brown, versatile Jackson, Ga., defensive end Neiron Ball and made a late steal for Atlanta Westlake linebacker Michael Taylor. It looks like Urban Meyer and his staff dodged a recruiting bullet.
Remember Barron Collier kicker Marvin Kloss? The place-kicker got a bit of attention when he wanted to walk-on to Florida’s football team. He was very close to getting his wish until UF’s admissions office didn’t accept him. With that, Kloss decided to walk-on at USF and compete for a starting job over the summer. Florida’s quarterback decisions for the 2010 class have been heavily scrutinized, but even Urban Meyer said he likes what Trey Burton and Tyler Murphy bring to his spread offense. In 2011, however, Florida should be looking to snatch one or two of the bigger quarterback fish.

I caught up with Florida running back signee Mack Brown Sunday before I glued my eyes to the USA-Canada game. While Canadian — and original Mighty Duck — Paul Kariya is my all-time favorite hockey player, Zach Parise wears No. 9 oh so nicely. Hats off to the U.S. team.
