Friday Night Lights might be the event of the summer as far as recruiting is concerned, but it’s the Monday after when things start to really get figured out. The drama surrounding Delray Beach, Atlantic wide receiver James Louis brings to mind a couple things. First, it says that if Florida’s coaches didn’t want to accept his commitment right now, they have tremendous options at wide receiver that they feel confident enough to wait. It also says that the staff is one slip up away from losing out on a solid prospect at receiver (or two).

Rumors run amuck in college recruiting. Fans of School A hate it when a player spurns their school for School B, so why not make up something about that player? Of course, when these rumors are constructed, the perpetrator usually hides behind the identity of a screen name on some message board.
